Employment Specialist
Essential Job Function
- Provide Assessment, Discovery, Vocational Exploration, Community & Targeted Vocational Assessments, Job Development, and Job Retention services to Dirkse CC Clients.
- Ability to follow Dirkse CC’s Program Standard Operating Procedures of service delivery, plan development, progress report documentation, monthly summaries, and coordinating services with other professionals.
- Develop and maintain Employer relationships. Develop assessments and job sites within the greater Portland Metro area.
- Provide and/or coordinate vocational supports which include job/task analysis, Employer consultation, and client training using principles of errorless learning.
- Job Retention consultation involving problem-solving, Employer consultation, case management, and performance management.
- Establish rapport and maintain professionalism in service delivery with a customer service approach to all activities.
- Record keeping and time management to meet weekly client service goals.
- Participate in meetings, trainings and other DCC sponsored events as requested.
- Follow all Dirkse CC Health and Safety guidelines as indicated in the Employee Manual.
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned by the organization’s leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or two years of related experience working with individuals in a helping role.
- Good driving record with valid driver’s license, vehicle, and auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check with the State of Oregon.
- Complete on-line mandatory abuse reporting training.
- Organized and ability to juggle multiple tasks, paying close attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Strong computer skills with various Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Quick Books).
- First Aid Certification (expense paid by Dirkse CC if not currently certified)
Physical Requirements
- Work conducted in an office environment with Employer site visits at various locations.
- May sit at a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
- Work within the light range of physical work at Employer assessment sites or with clients.
- Able to reach, handle, and carry office supplies and materials.
- Ability to drive to outside appointments.
